Lambda Delta Xi Diaternity, is an all-inclusive Greek-lettered service organization that offers a different opportunity for those who wish to join Greek Life, but are having trouble finding the right organization for them. Lambda Delta Xi is the first Greek-Lettered organization on the East Coast of the United States that is dedicated to advocating for the queer community (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, asexual, grey-asexual, pansexual, demisexual, polysexual, polyamorous, gender non-conforming, romantic orientation) and their allies. The organization holds the distinction of being neither a fraternity or a sorority, but rather a 'diaternity' which means transcending boundaries. Lambda Delta Xi was founded on October 24, 2014 and officially recognized by Kutztown University of Pennsylvania on November 11, 2014. The principles of Lambda Delta Xi Diaternity include Solidarity, Education, Advocacy, and Activism.
Our organization was founded by members of Allies of Kutztown University. the gay-straight alliance which has been active at Kutztown University for over twenty years. The members of Lambda Delta Xi work to educate, raise awareness, and act as advocates for the queer community, as well as engage in community service projects to give back to the communities in which we live. Lambda Delta Xi Diaternity has designated two organizations for its philanthropies so that we may be able to support the queer community both nationally and locally as well. The national philanthropy for all Chapters of Lambda Delta Xi Diaternity is the Trevor Project, and currently the state philanthropy for Pennsylvania is Bradbury-Sullvian LGBT Community Center.
